Best DnD/Tabletop Moments; Or worst. Or craziest.

So, we've been playing Shadowrun, and my character is a beautiful seductress/assassin with very high charisma. So far she has been able to seduce two trolls working as bouncers for a club so she wouldn't have to wait in a long line to get into said club, and then she seduced a security guard to steal his key card for the building he was guarding. She managed to convince him to take her to an office where they would do the deed, but then they were caught by one of the higher-ups. Doing what she does best, she was able to get the boss guy into an office instead, and the security guard had to leave lol. So, she starts seducing this boss guy, blindfolding him with his tie, and when she tried pick-pocketing his key card, he sensed it and grabbed her wrist. Luckily, one of the other players who plays a scruffy detective guy came to the window and used some kinda mind control on the guy to make him relax and think "What exactly am i giving up here?" So the boss guy had my chick put his stuff on the desk. So she did and continued with the deed. Once done, she slipped the key card into her shirt while he was still blindfolded and exhausted. She then went to open the window to climb out only to set off an alarm. Hearing the alarm, the man jumps up to see what's going on. Loralin (my chick) turns to him and convinces him that she won't tell his boss what they did as long as he lets her go. She also added that she might come to see him again if he cooperated with her. The man agreed and she was free to climb out the window. I can't wait to see what other crazy shenanigans she'll get herself into next!

So I've been playing and GMing D&D 5e since late 2014. I have a few stories to tell though I'll have to edit them in later. Does anyone else still roleplay? Which systems do you run?

I've been kinda-sorta wanting to try to DM a small custom campaign. Probably Pathfinder. But I haven't done tabletop in awhile. 1.5yrs maybe? I miss it, just hard to find the time and dedication to put towards it. How's your campaign going? Player or DM?

That one guy from way back when

I actually just got into tabletop. Playing D&D 5e with a coworker of mine. Entry level stuff, but I've found it interesting, and my coworker finds me interesting because I'm not playing it like "most people" apparently. Apparently my 4th level Dwarven Eldritch Knight that has just taken up Ritual Mastery to have a familiar and identify things on his own isn't normal or something.

That said, I'm currently rereading the Project: Genesis RP on here, and wondering what my grand plan for it actually was, in a very curious manner.

Oh my god Project Genesis... My character was such a walking cliche. He was just... the worst. But... That was before all those sexy vampire tropes and "True Blood" so I feel like he was still ahead of his time... Especially with the whole "drinking donated blood" thing... although I MAY have stolen that from Angel, so... Maybe not so original? IDK...

Anyways~! Yeah. I wouldn't mind doing an RP with you guys again... Although, I don't really wanna do a one-topic RPG anymore... I am more of a fan of the Board-Wide kinds of RPs... That's why I ended up on a Fairy Tail RP board after the Dark Forest RP went sideways... Since the whole show/manga was considered non-canon, it's really no different from your standard modern fantasy roleplay board...

(anyone wanna join me for some criminal shenanigans on another board? eh? EH? COME BE A MOBSTER WITH ME~!)

Well bringing this thread back to D&D/Tabletop RPG and not HoN's defunct RP Board...

I am in two groups at the moment to play 5e. I GM one group, and am a player in the other.

Currently I'm GMing my second group, after I abandoned the majority of my first groups members because they were far too unreliable in terms of actually making it to gaming sessions and communication outside of them. My current group is mostly new players who are quite enjoying it and are ever so slightly leaning into roleplaying their characters rather than just controlling them. One guy in particular has taken a shine to getting into his character's heads which I have rewarded him for and will continue to reward him for. One of the slightly more experienced members is a handful though because, while he won't openly admit it, he keeps trying to do outlandish things to be outlandish and wants to try steer the game towards his character either being super almighty beloved and feared by all, or going down in a literal blaze of glory. It's quite annoying but if he keeps it up I'm just going to through many hardships at his characters until he gets this act together.

As for the group I'm a player in? Sadly our initial campaign attempt didn't even make it half way before we dropped it due to every other player having issues with attending sessions consistently, leading to long month long (or longer) gaps between sessions which were comparitvely super short and not always all that progressive/eventful. While my GM doesn't really want to replace the other players (to an extent neither do I), many of our compromises have fallen flat. We considered one other campaign with a replacement for a player who essentially has had to stop attending altogether, but that never happened, and then the attempt after that ran a total of 1 session before being dropped. Thankfully, with another extra player in tow, we've started playing again but the gap between sessions still looks like it'll be rather wide.

*sigh* This really makes me miss my longest running 5e characters. A halberd wielding fighter that managed to get to 5th level and survive the starter set adventure (the only thing our group has ever managed to finish) but was sadly killed in what amounts to being an epilogue. He was my first 5e character and after so many close calls and even resurrecting another PC, at the expense of pretty much all of the party's gold, the game still managed to take him from me in the end. Poor Grimm, I hardly knew thee.

My previous main, and other longest running character so far, was a Wood Elf Monk woman by the name of Syllin. She also reached level 5 before we were forced to drop the campaign. Funnily enough she was the 3rd character I rolled with in that campaign, after my first two died (one failed death saves before the party could help him and the other was executed after another party member essentially betrayed him to save himself and the rest of the party). Anyway, Syllin was based. In her first combat she took down 10 cultists by herself, with only darts, while hanging from the top of a stalagmite. She proceeded to be awesome until we dropped the campaign.

One of my favourite things about Syllin was that she was meant to be easily mistaken for a guy due to being young for an elf and rather toned. As a result, our group joined a large caravan for a 60 day trip. It took until someone tried to accuse her of murder that someone else (who had joined the caravan part way) refered to her as a SHE, which promptly left the rest of the caravan gobsmacked. This happened on the 58th day or something like that. :P

There's a bunch of stuff these days for doing virtual tabletop games. I'm sure there's enough of us here that we could work something out. The only troublesome bit might be timing of it all.

Well if people want to do online tabletop RPG stuff, I'd recommend using Roll20. It's a free use website designed for doing tabletop rpgs digitally and has a lot of features. Timing would be a major issue I think mostly if I wanted to join in the fun though, since I'm quite far ahead of most people.
